About our new project: A Cup of Responsibility

our current project - A Cup of Responsibility

Nourishing futures

Imagine living every day wondering whether you will be able to eat that day. For millions of children in low-income countries, this is a sad reality. Child hunger is a quiet crisis that often goes unnoticed due to its persevering nature. Instead of simply being a physical health issue, this problem goes deeper and impacts every facet of a child’s life. Therefore, A Cup of Responsibility means A Cup of Responsible Oatmeal.

Their education is affected, as one cannot concentrate, participate or learn on an empty stomach. For girl children, this compounded with domestic obligations often entirely dissuades them from going to school. Having to help out at home or start working early, they miss out on crucial education, and this has a long-term negative impact on their futures.

We want to do what we can to help alleviate this problem, starting small with our ‘A Cup of Responsibility’ initiative. Through this project, we intend to deliver a daily, nutritious breakfast – a cup of oatmeal – to children at school each morning. This small meal serves the goal of combatting hunger but also adds a motivation for children to be sent to school.

The Problem: Hunger and learning

Schools are meant to be places of hope and opportunity. But for those who are malnourished, that hope is lost to fatigue, illness and poor school attendance. Chronic hunger can significantly slow down cognitive development, stunt physical growth, and leave children vulnerable to illness. Often, children struggle to get even a single nourishing meal per day.

Our hope with A Cup of Responsibility is that the cup of oatmeal they receive helps to motivate them to attend school regularly and have the energy and concentration to learn essential skills. Children eating a healthy breakfast maintain higher energy levels, participate more fully in class, and develop resilience against common childhood illnesses. Teachers see measurable improvements in attendance and engagement, while parents experience relief knowing their children are cared for in school. Every portion will strengthen the foundation for a child’s learning, well-being and confidence.

About our new project- A Cup of Responsibility

Our Approach

The Responsibles Foundation is dedicated to sustainable, scalable solutions for child nutrition and development. We believe that healthy, nourished children are the key to thriving communities, and to breaking the cycle of poverty and exclusion.

Our ‘A Cup of Responsibility’ project will follow the following:

  • Every school day, a large pot of Responsible Oatmeal will be cooked in clean, safe kitchens and served to children at their schools.
  • Meals will meet rigorous hygiene protocols, with ongoing audits and transparent reporting to donors and partners.
  • By starting with breakfast, we can dramatically improve school attendance, concentration, and overall child health.

Our preliminary goal is to reach at least 1000 children and raise 5000 euros to help actualise this project. With every single euro raised, we move closer to ending child hunger.

How Can you Help us?

The Responsibles Foundation is committed to providing relief that is long-term and sustainable. Our project will help to advance SDG Goal 2, of zero hunger. We plan to create a system for these meals that will employ local people and boost their economies and be self-sustaining in the future.

  • Donate: Even One Euro goes a long way in providing oatmeal for a child. Support as a one-time donor or set up monthly contributions for lasting impact.
  • Volunteer: Join us as a volunteer or help raise funds and awareness in your networks.
  • Spread the word: Advocate for child nutrition in your workplace, community, or on social media.
  • Partner: If you’re a brand, consider cross-promotion and employee engagement. If you’re another nonprofit, let’s combine strengths.

Questions?

Our team ensures full transparency—detailing what goes into each meal, how funds are spent, and how partners benefit. We’re happy to confirm donation tax-deductibility (check your local regulations).

Real Stories, Real Change

Behind every hot breakfast is a real child: a boy who attends class instead of staying home, a girl who discovers her love of reading, a teacher thrilled by improved engagement, a parent who can focus on work without worry.

Every day, small gifts, one Euro, one meal, one act, create ripples. A Cup of Responsibility is more than collective nourishment: it’s a movement toward fairness, opportunity, and hope.

Ready to act?

With your support, we can end classroom hunger and build a foundation for learning, health, and equality. Whether through donations, volunteering, or partnership, your involvement changes the trajectory for a new generation.
