Grant Writer Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer Intern to join our dynamic team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit development and grant writing. The Grant Writer Intern will play a crucial role in supporting our foundation’s efforts to secure funding for our impactful programs.

Responsibilities

As a Grant Writer Intern, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Researching potential grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.
• Assisting in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, including writing, editing, and proofreading content.
• Collaborating with program staff to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
• Maintaining accurate records of grant submissions and tracking the status of pending proposals.
• Supporting the development of grant budgets and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines.
• Preparing progress reports and other documentation required by funders.
• Assisting in the development of communication materials to highlight the impact of our programs to potential funders.
  
  

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Grant Writer Intern position will have:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Political Science, Education, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Previous experience in grant writing or nonprofit development (preferred).
• A passion for the foundation’s mission and a commitment to making a positive impact.
